RUSSIA INVESTIGATION SUSPECT PAUL MANAFORT JUST FOLLOWED MICHAEL FLYNN AND REGISTERED AS A FOREIGN AGENT. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Manafort Follows Michael Flynn Who Also Filed As A Foreign Agent.

A consulting company headed by Paul Manafort, the former chairman of President Donald Trump’s campaign team, registered as a foreign agent Tuesday, three years after it completed its work on behalf of a Ukrainian political party, the Washington Post reported.
The filing revealed that Manafort’s firm, DMP International, received $17.1 million between 2012 and 2014 from the Party of Regions, the pro-Russian former ruling party in Ukraine. Manafort resigned as the director of Trump’s campaign in August 2016 when allegations that he had received undisclosed cash payments for his work in Ukraine began to surface.

The retroactive disclosure by Manafort’s firm, DMP International, was made under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). The law was passed in 1938 to combat Nazi propagandists in the United States and some 6,000 companies and individuals have declared themselves to be foreign agents under the Act since it was established, though many are no longer active.
So what does it mean to be a foreign agent in the United States?
What is a foreign agent?
As defined by FARA, a foreign agent is any person who acts on behalf of a “foreign principal” in a political manner in the United States. To break that down: A foreign principal can mean a foreign government or political party; or just simply an individual or company based outside the U.S.
To be classified as a foreign agent under FARA, the person must be engaged in political or quasi-political activities on behalf of the foreign principal. So, for example, the Act was passed just before the outbreak of World War II as U.S. lawmakers were concerned about Nazi propagandists working on behalf of the regime in Germany to influence Washington’s view of the country.
The purpose of FARA is to ensure that “the U.S. government and the people of the United States are informed of the source of information (propaganda) and the identity of persons attempting to influence U.S. public opinion, policy, and laws,” according to the Department of Justice.
Why did Manafort register?
Manafort’s firm registered as a foreign agent under FARA because it worked on behalf of a foreign political party. The 87-page filing claimed that, while DMP International’s main work was on domestic Ukrainian politics, Manafort’s firm also worked “to advance the goal of greater political and economic integration between Ukraine and the West,” the AP reported. The Party of Regions was at the time led by Viktor Yanukovych, who was elected president of Ukraine in 2010 but fled to Russia in 2014 after mass protests against his rule.

It should be noted that FARA does not proscribe anyone from acting on behalf of foreign principals: In other words, Manafort and his firm did not do anything illegal under the Act by advocating on the Ukrainian party’s behalf. Rather, FARA simply requires that foreign agents register with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and disclose their activities—including income from and expenditure on behalf of their foreign principals. A separate U.S. statute, however, does prohibit public officials from acting as foreign agents, but since Manafort left before Trump was elected, it seems unlikely that he would qualify as a public official, according to the respected legal blog Just Security.
Will Manafort get in trouble for registering so late?
It seems unlikely. FARA does stipulate that foreign agents register with the DOJ within 10 days of agreeing to work for a foreign entity, and to also provide six-monthly updates on its activities. But the law only carries civil and criminal penalties in two cases:
- Where an individual or company has willfully failed to register as a foreign agent;
- Where an individual or company has made a false statement or omission of fact in connection with their registration.
It would seem difficult to prove willfulness as opposed to simple negligence as Manafort’s reason for not registering earlier. Criminal charges for FARA are usually reserved for those who have damaged U.S. foreign policy interests and are generally lumped in with other charges, like espionage, the Washington Post reported. [ME: THIS is the part that will hang the Trump cabal.]
What about Michael Flynn?
Manafort is not the first person associated with Trump to have filed as a foreign agent. A month after President Trump fired him as national security adviser for withholding details of his communications with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., Flynn filed papers that acknowledged that he had worked on behalf of the Turkish government during the presidential campaign. Flynn received $500,000 from Inovo, a firm run by a Turkish-American businessman with ties to leaders in Turkey. The White House denied that it knew that Flynn would have to register as a foreign agent when he was hired by Trump, despite reports that Flynn’s personal lawyer had contacted attorneys in the Trump transition team ahead of the presidential inauguration.
Does this impact the Russia investigation?
Robert Mueller, the special counsel appointed in May to head up the investigation into possible ties between Trump’s campaign and the Russian government, has taken over a criminal investigation into Manafort over the alleged misuse of Ukrainian government funds, the AP reported earlier this month. The Manafort investigation was opened by the DOJ before the 2016 election, but the fact that Mueller has taken over it suggests that Manafort’s case will be looked at in the wider context of the Russia probe.
Manafort’s declaration as a foreign agent would not seem to have a direct bearing on the Russia investigation. But it can only add to mounting questions over the people Trump has surrounded himself with.

Report: Mueller is Pursuing Trump on 3 Different Impeachable Crimes
*SOURCE*
[EXCERPTS.]
Ever since Special Counsel Robert Mueller was appointed to investigate President Trump, we have heard all sorts of rumors regarding exactly what he may be looking into. Some are obvious, such as colluding with Russia, but other possible alleged crimes go much deep and span greater lengths of time.
Claude Taylor, a former White House staff member for Clinton, has become somewhat of a Twitter reporter when it comes to being a resource for leaked Trump information. He has many connections both inside the White House and the intelligence community, and his sources have proven to be correct in the past. Yesterday he unleashed a rather intriguing Twitter thread on the social media platform. It read:
“Source with knowledge of investigation. Mueller is proceeding along 3 broad fronts. Investigating Trump for ties to Russian Organized Crime, especially money laundering and other illegalities tied to his business career. The second front is the Trump Campaigns and their collusion and coordination with Putin/Russian Govt in fixing the 2016 election. The third front is Trump’s crimes as president especially obstruction of justice. My source says Mueller’s team feels confident that Trump has committed impeachable offenses on all 3 fronts.”
So it’s not just “collusion” and “obstruction of justice” that Taylor’s sources say Robert Mueller is investigating Trump for. Rather it stems much deeper than that, into possible money laundering and organized crime (thus the rumors we’ve heard about a possible RICO case). Only one crime is required for an impeachment hearing to take place, and it appears as though Mueller, who has hired an all-star team full of investigators and prosecutors, will be digging quite deep into Trump’s entire business career.

Comey Friend, Wittes, Hints That a Trump Bombshell Is On The Way
*SOURCE*
[EXCERPTS.]
We just published a story which hinted at a major incoming bombshell in the Trump/Russia
investigation. The argument used was that both Trump and Fox News seem to have changed their narrative from ‘No Russian involvement of collusion” to “collusion is legal and common”. It’s almost as if they are preparing the public for evidence, which soon will drop, implicating that there really was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Immediately following the publication of that article this morning, another tidbit of information popped up, suggesting that yes a bombshell is on its way. Benjamin Wittes, the man James Comey provided details about his Trump memos to, who then leaked them to the press, has just made two somewhat cryptic tweets alluding to a ticking time bomb.
The first tweet simply read, “tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick.”
This was then followed by a more substantial, yet still cryptic tweet, stating:
“3 things:
1) Not all ticks are related to Comey.
2) Fuse length remains uncertain.
3) Interesting preemptive defense of collusion happening.”
===
Wittes is clearly alluding to three separate points here. First of all, not all the information he is privy to is related to James Comey’s ties to the Trump investigation. Second, he’s also unsure how long it will be before this next bombshell explodes, but it is ticking. Finally, the bombshell will likely be related to evidence pointing towards Trump’s collusion with Russian officials.
Wittes is a distinguished individual who clearly garnered the trust of James Comey. He’s not someone to make up or embellish rumors or facts, and if he believes something big is coming, I personally view it as fact. Wittes has tweeted the words ‘tick tick tick” before, and each time he has, yet another major leak in this investigation dropped soon after. Combined with the sudden change of narrative by Fox News and Trump himself, I feel it’s safe to say that something big is on the way; something that is not going to go over well for the President. Then again, perhaps I’m wrong.
Report: ‘Trump is Going to Prison’ – Member of Trump’s Inner Circle Tells Family
*SOURCE*
[EXCERPTS.]
Today, as Donald Trump seems to be in a panicked frenzy, defending acts of possible collusion, rather than denying them like he has over the course of the past several months, more and more information seems to be flowing to the forefront hinting at something huge that may be on the brink of occurring. One such tidbit of information came as James Comey’s confidant, Benjamin Witte, who originally leaked details of Comey’s memos hinted at something big that could be a bombshell in the Trump/Russia investigation.
Now comes an even larger bombshell, with former NSA Counterintelligence Officer, John Schindler posting a message on Twitter, that reads as follows:
“FYI ===> Trusted member of Trump’s inner circle has told family & friends that he knows both he & POTUS are going to prison. Developing … Remember when I said our Foreign Intel partners know everything about Trump? Yeah, that.”
Schindler, who is a columnist at the New York Observer, has spent close to 10 years with the NSA as both an intelligence analyst and a counterintelligence officer, working with issues in much of the Middle East and Eastern Europe. He is known to be an opponent of Trump as well as someone who has reported on breaking Trump/Russia news over the past several months.
The question that arises from this comment is; “Just who within Trump’s inner circle could have told his family and friends that he believes that both himself and President Trump are going to prison?” The fact that someone guilty of a crime is willing to admit he/she has broken the law to an extent that would result in prison is significant, but the fact that he too believes that the President of the United States is also guilty is quite the bombshell.
Stay tuned!

Trump: Why Didn’t Obama Do Anything About Something I Said Never Existed?
*SOURCE*
[EXCERPTS.]
Donald Trump denied on more than one occasion that the Russians attempted to meddle in the 2016 election even as late as a few days ago. Once the story broke in The Washington Post about Obama’s lack of a response to the meddling, President Trump took on a whole new outlook.
Going back over 2016, Donald Trump denied Russian involvement in election interference on a number of occasions:
September 2016 – During the first presidential debate, Trump made his first public denial.
October 2016 – During the second presidential debate, Trump suggested there was no hacking at all and why Russia was blamed.
December 2016 – After the election, Trump rejected a CIA assessment that said Russia intervened in the election in the hopes he’d win. “I don’t believe it.”
December 2016 – Trump’s transition team dumped on the CIA pointing to their assessment that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction
It wasn’t until the DNI released a report that said the NSA, CIA, and FBI all agreed that Russia meddled in the election that Trump was forced to acknowledge the obvious.
That didn’t stop Trump from occasionally tweeting it was all a “hoax” or “made up.”
All of that suddenly changed when the Washington Post released their story revealing President Obama didn’t take action against Russia because he was concerned about the political impact.
Trump tweeted the following in response:
Just out: The Obama Administration knew far in advance of November 8th about election meddling by Russia. Did nothing about it. WHY?
[ME: DT had access to the SAME intel as BHO. Why didn’t DT do anything? Oh, right, because DT’s been lying and trying to keep this from coming out.]
(BACK TO ARTICLE BY RED STATE)
What meddling, Mr. President? A day earlier he was still calling it a hoax:
…Why did Democratic National Committee turn down the DHS offer to protect against hacks (long prior to election). It’s all a big Dem HOAX!
I am sure the President’s loyal followers will claim he is engaged in another brilliant scheme to throw his accusers off base when in reality he doesn’t think. He reacts. When asked about his sudden turnabout, he’ll likely deny the interference again but say if it happened, Obama should have done something.
In other words, it will be a day that ends in ‘y.’

Trump Just Admitted to Aiding and Abetting Russia
*SOURCE*
[EXCERPTS.]
For close to a year now, candidate Trump and President Trump have denied, denied, and denied when it has come to Russia’s possible meddling in the U.S. election. When evidence was clearly in front of us all, instead of taking a pro-active approach to putting an end to what may be the worst attack on American democracy since 9-11, he deflected and deflated the entire idea that Russia was at all involved.
When 17 intelligence agencies pretty much stated that Russia was behind the 2016 election interference and that it appeared their goal was to harm Clinton and help Trump, instead of attacking Russia, Trump attacked the intelligence agencies. It was almost as if the man was too concerned about his ego to even entertain the idea (at least publicly) that his election win may have actually been attributed to interference in our democracy. He even went as far as to attack Democrats such as Senators Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi because they had been photographed in the past with Putin and/or his associates.
On multiple occasions, President-elect Donald Trump and President Donald Trump were briefed by high ranking members of the intelligence community, presenting him with solid evidence that Russia had interfered in our elections. After each and every briefing, Trump tweeted, gave interviews and even held press conferences stating the contrary, or at the very least blowing such claims off, and never once admitting that Russia was the culprit.
It wasn’t until Thursday, in an odd turn of events, that the President began to publicly consider that Russia may have actually been involved.
“By the way, if Russia was working so hard on the 2016 Election, it all took place during the Obama Admin. Why didn’t they stop them,” he tweeted.
On Friday things took another turn into the Twilight Zone as Trump continued blaming President Obama for Russia’s interference, this time lashing out at the former President for not taking action.
“Just out: The Obama Administration knew far in advance of November 8th about election meddling by Russia. Did nothing about it. WHY?”
The ironic thing about all of this is that Trump also knew about Russia’s role well prior to November 8th and has been pushing his administration and fellow Republicans to ease the sanctions Obama put in place to penalize Russia at the end of December. Meanwhile, up until last week, he had been denying, or at least shedding doubt, that it was Russia that was involved. All the while he had been trying to get closer to the country which stabbed our democracy in the heart.
To cap things off, in a series of two tweets yesterday, Trump continued attacking Obama, even going as far as suggesting that the former President did not act on information, in an effort to prevent Clinton’s chances at the Presidency from being damaged.
“Since the Obama Administration was told way before the 2016 Election that the Russians were meddling, why no action? Focus on them, not T! Obama Administration official said they “choked” when it came to acting on Russian meddling of election. They didn’t want to hurt Hillary?”
It now appears, that not only is Trump admitting that Russia did in fact meddle in our election process, but he is blaming Obama, who did in fact act, for not acting. Meanwhile over the last 5 months he has done absolutely everything in his power to aid and abet the Russians. By admitting that the Russians did in fact hack our democracy, he in essence is admitting to aiding and abetting them. The President was clearly warned of what was going on, yet instead of fighting back, putting up protective mechanisms, he deflected attention elsewhere, blamed Democrats for the ‘Hoax” and continued to push his administration to ease the very punishments that Obama placed on Russia right before leaving office. If this is not a clear definition of aiding and abetting, then I don’t know what is.
If Trump really did not believe that Russia was behind the attacks, then his actions could have been justified in a court of law. Trump, however, decided to make it apparent, via these recent Tweets, that not only does he now believe Russia attacked our election, but he thinks President Obama should have done more to prevent the attacks. That’s telling!

Donald J. Trump’s global business empire will create an unprecedented number of conflicts of interest for a United States president, experts in legal ethics say.
Mr. Trump has said he will separate himself from his company before taking the oath of office, but he has not offered any details on how.
Ethics experts warn that if Mr. Trump puts his children in control of operations but continues to own the company, he will remain vulnerable to charges that his actions as president are guided by personal financial interests.
Here are some examples of the potential conflicts:
Michael Flynn

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn started advising Trump on national security in early 2016. When Trump took office in January 2017, Flynn served as his National Security Adviser, but resigned after one month amid questions about his links to Russia.

RT
In December 2015, Flynn went to Moscow for a gala celebrating the 10th anniversary of RT, the English-language news network controlled and funded by the Russian government. He sat at the same table as Putin. He was paid more than $33,750 by RT to participate, according to documents released by the House Oversight Committee.

Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communication
RT was founded in 2005 by RIA Novosti, a state-run news agency in Russia that has since been dissolved. It fell under the jurisdiction of the Russian Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communication.

Vladimir Putin
The Russian Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communication is the governmental department in charge of state-run media. Putin appoints its minister.

Sergey Kislyak
Flynn says he first met Russian ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak in 2013 during an official visit to Russia as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Flynn and Kislyak were in contact during the Trump transition, and they spoke on the same day President Obama ordered sanctions on Russia. The controversy over these calls triggered Flynn’s resignation in February, after one month on the job.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
As the top Russian diplomat in the United States, Kislyak works at the Russian embassy in Washington and is an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vladimir Putin
As president, Putin appoints all Russian ambassadors. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and its leadership, answers to Putin.

Subu Kota
After leaving the military in 2014, Flynn founded Flynn Intel Group. His firm last year reportedlypartnered with Brainwave Science, a company co-led by Sabu Kota, according to the Washington Post. A Trump campaign spokesman said Flynn had never met Kota.

KGB
In 1996, Kota pleaded guilty to selling biotech materials to someone posing as a Russian spy, but was really an FBI agent, according to Bloomberg. During the trial, prosecutors accused Kota of repeatedly meeting with a known KGB agent between 1985 and 1990. Kota denied the spying claim and insisted that the criminal charges stemmed from a patent dispute.

Vladimir Putin
The Committee for State Security, or the KGB, was dissolved when the USSR collapsed in 1991. Putin was a KGB agent from the mid-1970s until 1991. He later served as director of the FSB, a successor organization to the KGB.

Paul Manafort

Paul Manafort joined the Trump campaign in March 2016 and eventually became campaign chairman. He left in August 2016 amid questions about his dealings in Ukraine.

Viktor Yanukovych
Manafort worked for former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych for about a decade, starting as early as 2004. He helped steer Yanukovych to victory in the 2010 presidential election, and stayed on as an adviser during Yanukovych’s presidency. Yanukovych was ousted from power in 2014.

Vladimir Putin
At the urging of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Yanukovych adopted policies that moved Ukraine closer to Russia and away from the European Union. Putin publicly supported him during the 2014 revolution that led to his ouster. Yanukovych now lives in exile in Russia.

Dmytro Firtash
Dmytro Firtash is a Ukrainian billionaire and ally of former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych. He partnered with Manafort on a deal to redevelop the Drake Hotel in New York. Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko sued Firtash in federal court, alleging that the project was a money laundering scheme. Firtash denied the charges, the project fell through, and the lawsuit was dismissed.

Gazprom
Firtash served as an intermediary between the Ukrainian government and Gazprom, the Russian natural gas company. He has amassed a fortune through his business in the energy industry.

Vladimir Putin
The Russian government holds a majority stake in Gazprom, and Putin has considerable influence in the company. Gazprom’s chairman of the board was Putin’s deputy while Putin was prime minister.

Opposition Bloc
Manafort began working for Yanukovych in 2004 and grew to be an influential figure in Ukraine who had the ear of the President. After Yanukovych was ousted and pro-Western forces took the reins, Manafort stayed on in the country to help rebrand Yanukovych’s Party of Regions as “Opposition Bloc.”

Konstantin Kilimnik
Konstantin Kilimnik, a dual citizen of Ukraine and Russia, was an aide to Manafort while Manafort worked in Ukrainian politics. Kilimnik told Radio Free Europe, that he spoke to Manafort “every couple of months” during the 2016 election, and Politico reported that they met twice during the campaign.

Viktor Yanukovych
Kilimnik worked for Manafort and former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. Kilimnik has said in interviews that he attended high-level meetings with Yanukovych, who served as president from 2010 to 2014.

Vladimir Putin
At the urging of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Yanukovychadopted policies that moved Ukraine closer to Russia and away from the European Union. Putin publicly supported him during the 2014 revolution that led to his ouster. Yanukovych now lives in exile in Russia.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions was the first Senator to endorse Trump and he became chairman of the Trump campaign’s national security team in March 2016. He spoke at the Republican convention and was a top campaign surrogate down the stretch.

Sergey Kislyak
Sessions met Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak twice during the campaign. The first meeting was on the sidelines of an event at the Republican convention. The second was a private meeting in October, in Sessions’ office. He didn’t disclose these meetings at his confirmation hearings, and he later recused himself from all probes into the Trump campaign.

JD Gordon
Sessions chaired the Trump campaign’s National Security Advisory Committee during the presidential race. J.D. Gordon was a member of that committee and also advised Trump on security issues.

Sergey Kislyak
Gordon met Russian ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak at the Republican convention in July 2016. He told CNN that he stressed to the Russian envoy that he would like to improve relations with Russia, and that nothing he said to Kislyak amounted to collusion with Russia to aid the Trump campaign.

Vladimir Putin
As president, Putin appoints all Russian ambassadors. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and its leadership, answers to Putin.

Sergey Gorkov
Kushner met Sergey Gorkov, chairman of VneshEconomBank, in December 2016 during the transition. The meeting was not acknowledged by the White House until press reports about it in March 2017.

VEB
Gorkov is the chairman of VneshEconomBank, also called VEB, which is a state-owned development bank in Russia that focuses on infrastructure and other government projects.

Vladimir Putin
Putin appoints the chairman of VEB, and he tapped Gorkov in early 2016. The bank is not only part of the government but also a tool of the Kremlin. In that respect, VEB regularly funds projects that are favored by Putin, such as the massive development in Sochi for the 2014 Olympics.
