INTRODUCTION.

The Truth matters.
Jesus said that ye shall KNOW THE TRUTH, and THE TRUTH shall make you FREE. Jesus also said that The Bible IS TRUTH, and HE IS TRUTH. (John 8:31, 32, 36; John 14:6; John 17:17)

Jesus did NOT say this about love, mercy, grace, or compassion.
CHRIST SAID THIS ABOUT TRUTH.

We are told to speak THE TRUTH in love,
but nonetheless to speak THE TRUTH. (Ephesians 4:15)

The truth is NOT always pleasant-
What is pleasant is NOT always Truth.

Truth is NOT always popular-
What is popular is NOT always Truth.

What is Truth is always Truth…for everyone, everywhere, at all times.

Right is never wrong.

Wrong is never right.

An (Re)Introduction to The Terms Used.

BIAS:

Bias is weight in favor of or against an idea or thing; a learned, acquired world-view; an inclination of temperament or outlook/world-view…

Every source IS biased due to every source having a person/people involved. ALL people have bias, because ALL people have a world-view, a core of beliefs, opinions, principles, and values that make them who they are and guide them. Biases are learned via nurturing, upbringing, education, and personal experiences.

WHY ADDRESS THIS SUBJECT?

BECAUSE the church is divided and fractured. It has been for a LONG time, but is growing more severe and corrosive. 

Within the Body of Christ today we have:

  1. People who blindly accept that a celebrity is a “Christian” even though they’re shacking up committing fornication, the woman gets pregnant out of wedlock, and the “Church” they go to has sodomites/homosexuals/lesbians in KEY LEADERSHIP positions.
  2. People who blindly say a politician is “The Chosen One” and support him/her even though this person is deeply and daily: profane, vile, depraved, perverted, lewd, dishonest on everything (aka a LIAR), authoritarian, despotic, arrogant, greedy, corrupt, fraudulent, and engages in bribery, blackmail, bullying, and treason just to advance himself/herself.
  3. People who say ONLY what agrees with them and their preconceived view(s) “is right”- ALL ELSE is wrong/”biased”, “fake news”, “the enemy of the people/state”.

There is much more. It IS much deeper than this…and MUCH worse than this…BUT these are what currently precipitated this article.

EXAMPLE 1.

If you’re rooting around in the dung heap of the:
“Prosperity gospel”, “Positive confession gospel”, “self-esteem gospel”, the “word of faith gospel”, or any other FALSE “gospel” for nuggets of truth, what you are engaging in is akin to dumpster diving for green bologna to eat when you have a FREE T-BONE steak dinner!
98% of rat poison is GOOD FOOD- it’s the 2% POISON THAT KILLS.
The same with dumpster diving for nuggets of God’s Holy, Eternal Truth in False teachers and False doctrine.
II CORINTHIANS 6:14-7:1 commands Disciples of The Lord Jesus Christ to COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM.
You want Truth?
Pray.
Read your Bible.
Go to a good, Biblically-sound church with a Godly minister.
But dumpster diving in False doctrine WILL make you spiritually, morally, mentally, and emotionally sick, and it WILL steal, kill, and destroy you. (John 10:1, 10)

The FALSE Choice For Christians:
Either be a witness for The Lord Jesus Christ, or engage in the BOGUSLY titled “culture war”.
As Christians we ARE TO BE Light and Salt.
We are to have a Godly, Christian influence and impact on ALL of society.
“Righteousness exalts a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people.”
IF a Christian is truly BEING a witness they WILL BE the Salt and Light Jesus told us to be. Read Acts, Exodus 18, Deuteronomy 1…and see what God’s Word says of Believers…and what God expects, and what WE should expect from leaders.
IF we truly are leading souls to Jesus AND disciplining them then we WILL influence and impact our society.
We have a Godless SOCIETY BECAUSE
We have Christless people.
Jesus wants His Disciples to BE Salt and Light in EVERY aspect of life, including society and culture.

EXAMPLE 3.

I hear Christians say we “can’t legislate morality”. Really?

ANY government at all is a legislation of morality.

It’s a matter for each of us to decide what we will comply with and what we won’t.

Laws against pedophilia are a legislation against immorality.

Laws against murder, rape, theft, arson, fraud, embezzlement, blackmail, mugging, abortion (see murder), pedophilia, ALL LAWS ARE THE LEGISLATING OF MORALITY. 

I have no problem with those. 

These same “Christians” say this because they are either ignorant, illiterate of God’s Word on the matter, OR they don’t want their life and choices scrutinised by the light of God’s Word.

The FALSE argument, based on a FALSE doctrine, that is based on OUT-OF-CONTEXT misreading of The Word of God. This out-of-context MISREADING happens due to: 1) lack of serious Bible study, and poor understanding of Bible doctrine, coupled with poor comprehension, and IN CONTEXT READING/STUDY; OR 2) a deliberate attempt to deceive, delude, and muddy the issue(s) with false, out-of-context “quotes”.

HERE IS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS:

Can we all agree that in The Bible there is NO higher authority than God/Jesus/The Holy Spirit?

24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

This is The Lord Jesus Christ talking. HE speaks of TWO types of judging here. Superficial, hypocritical, and “righteous judging”.

The superficial/hypocritical Christ straitly forbids.

The Righteous judging HE commands.

Here God commands, sets in order, and details the way to judge, judge ONLY according to God’s Word/Law.

[NOTE: God’s Word says Paul passed this judgment though NOT physically present. God’s Word IS Truth, IS Right, no matter the distance or location.]

[NOTE: From Malachi 3 to I Corinthians 12, now here in I John 4 we see the NEED of DISCERNING OF/judging of spirits, doctrine, truth, error, and right and wrong according TO God’s Word.]

[NOTE: This is Jesus talking again, the HIGHEST authority there is, and HE says HOW to execute judgment among the brethren in the church.]

Lastly, THE MOST MISUNDERSTOOD, MISUSED SCRIPTURE PASSAGE IN THE ENTIRE BIBLE, by saint and sinner alike.

Matthew 7:1-23 King James Version (KJV)

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Thou hypocritefirst cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogsneither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you…

…13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Many stop at verse one like that is all that The Lord Jesus Christ said.

BUT place that INTO the proper CONTEXT of the rest of the chapter, and indeed, The WHOLE BIBLE and you see Jesus Christ says in more detail in Matthew chpt. 7 what HE says in John 7:24. Jesus does NOT give a blanket prohibition of judging, BUT of superficial, hypocritical judging.

The Conclusion of the Whole Matter:

  1. STUDY GOD’S WORD- ALL OF IT.
  2. LEARN GOD’S WORD- ALL OF IT.
  3. BELIEVE GOD’S WORD- ALL OF IT.
  4. LIVE BY GOD’S WORD- AGAIN, ALL OF IT.
  5. And when God’s Word says something is right IT IS RIGHT regardless of who says otherwise.
  6. When God’s Word says something is wrong IT IS WRONG regardless of who says otherwise.
  7. Do NOT be shallow.
  8. Do NOT be hypocritical.
  9. Do NOT be hateful, hate-filled, NOR in anyway operate in hate.
  10. If you see a moral or doctrinal error PRAY FIRST. And ALWAYS respond IN and WITH LOVE, [Ephesians 4:15].

If you’re happy that someone failed so you can be the “Bible Cop”…then YOUR heart is not right. Pray. Repent. Get forgiveness. Get restoration.

Two things about Godly judgment:

MUST BE SQUARELY ROOTED IN GOD’S WORD- NO OPINION.

MUST BE COMPLETELY IN AND BY GOD’S LOVE- PERIOD.

You may be asking, “Why do you think this is so important, Rev. Larry?”

My answer…. think of the countless churches, homes, marriages, families, and lives that have been RUINED, some that went to Hell…because no one spoke God’s Word, The Truth, to them in love.

  1. WHAT we know and call Conservatism, God and His Word calls RIGHTEOUSNESS, aka RIGHT/MORAL.
  2. WHAT we know call Liberalism, God and His Word calls UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, aka WRONG/IMMORAL.
  3. THE MORE TIME PRAYERFULLY SPENT IN God’s Word the more Conservative we become. SOURCES: HERE . HERE . HERE . HERE . HERE .
  4. Right is ALWAYS right.
  5. Wrong is ALWAYS wrong.
  6. Truth IS Truth. Period. There is NO “That is ‘your truth’.” There is TRUTH and your/my opinion.
  7. Two opposing views are NOT, and CAN NOT, both be right. ONLY ONE can be right. EXAMPLE: 2+2 can NOT BOTH equal 4 and “any other number”. Gravity does NOT BOTH pull us down and and make us to float. Fire is NOT BOTH hot and cold.
  8. The closer we get to The Truth the more our thinking, doctrine, attitudes, speech, behaviour, and life become Right.

IF YOU want to believe that a person who commits serial adultery, commits fraud, commits perjury, lies, admits to and brags about sexual assault, who is an egomaniac, sells out his/her country for personal favors/property/$$$, sells out their barely-there-thinly-veiled-pretense at RELIGION, berates and insults everyone, is a bigot, and a LIFE-LONG LIBERAL is “somehow”: The Chosen One of God, Godly, moral Christian, and is honest, and a true patriot servant…then go right ahead and do so. BUT DO NOT EXPECT rational, moral, praying, Bible reading, Reality based Christian Conservatives to fall for that nonsense. Especially when there is NOT ONE shred of proof to support your BOGUS claim.

IF you have any REAL proof present it to be examined and evaluated.

BUT DO NOT say all sources that disagree with you are biased, “fake news”, and lies…just because YOU don’t like it. THAT is NOT a rational argument.

THAT IS CHILDISH AND CHURLISH.

America is dying, if not already dead, because for too long too many have believed convenient delusions rather than HONESTLY examining ALL the evidence, facts, and eye-witnesses.

WORSE, The Church of The Lord Jesus Christ is exchanging the incorruptible Truth for a LIE at ever increasing rates til what passes for THE Church today bears little-to-no resemblance to THE Biblical Church of The Lord Jesus Christ at all!

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

LASTLY, “THE SPECIAL MESSAGE”:

“Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death”

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House. But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The questing before the House is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not [Jer. 5:21], the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it. I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry  for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received? Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss [Matt. 26:48]. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication? What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves. Sir, we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the ministry and Parliament. Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot of the throne! In vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation. There is no longer any room for hope. If
we wish to be free– if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending–if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained–we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!

They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house?  Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?  Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us [2 Chron. 32:8]. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone [Eccl. 9:11]; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable–and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.

It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace– but there is no peace [Jer. 6:14].  The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field!  Why stand we here idle [Matt. 20:6]? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!
