If You Still Support Trump QUIT Claiming To BE Constitutional, Conservative, And Christian

Former Republican strategist Stuart Stevens offers a searing rebuke of the president, and blames the GOP for dropping the ball.

We confront a moral and constitutional crisis unlike anything I have seen in my 73 years. President Trump’s actions with regard to Russia are exponentially more dangerous than Watergate or President Bill Clinton lying about sex.

We must believe our own eyes, and they are showing us that our president is a traitor to the fundamental principles of American democracy and may even be a traitor to the country. He has facilitated an ongoing attack on our republic, most recently by doing nothing in response to the horrifying scheme by Russia to have American soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

There is a principle in science that when confronted with compelling facts, the simplest explanation is probably the correct one. In the law there is a similar doctrine: “The thing speaks for itself.” We must admit that the simplest explanation for Trump’s conduct is the correct one.

Trump’s actions speak for themselves: He could be one of the greatest traitors in the history of our country.

Republicans, please don’t be silent to the families who lost loved ones in Afghanistan recently. Please don’t wander hunched over with a downtrodden face as you try to hide your shameful reticence from reporters. Do not seal your lips out of fealty to the president when American lives are at stake.

Why not investigate and explore, demand to discover the truth, and check out the possibility that this could be much worse than Benghazi?

Your silence is so far from golden. Let’s see what you are made of. We are waiting. We are watching. The clock is quickly ticking toward Nov. 3. We will see what kind of men or women you are and cast our votes for only the honorable and decent among you.

How long has Trump known about Russia putting bounties on American soldiers? Has he given a discernible response? Or will his “pattern of submissive behavior” toward Vladimir Putin continue when American soldiers are killed by militants paid by Russia?

Americans have to face the horrifying possibility that our leader is being blackmailed by Russia. Every interaction Trump has with Putin is shaded by the Helsinki tableau: the smug, grinning Putin, and a shaken Trump.

The only factor possibly holding back Putin from displaying outright dominance at this point is the impending U.S. election. It is not too excessive to say that the balance of international power will be tipped by the results of our election.

Donald Trump Is Now ‘America’s No. 1 Traitor,’ Says Veterans Group

“Benedict Arnold can step aside,” VoteVets says in its latest anti-Trump attack ad.

Petition update · IS DONALD TRUMP A TRAITOR ??? · Change.org

Donald Trump has taken over from Benedict Arnold as “America’s number one traitor,” according to a group of veterans seeking to vote the president out of office this November.

“No one has betrayed those in uniform like Donald Trump,”said the voiceover in the latest ad released by the progressive PAC VoteVets on Friday.

The 65-second spot references Trump’s siding with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin over U.S. intelligence on Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and his dismissal of reports that U.S. officials knew Russia allegedly paid Taliban members to kill American troops.

John Bolton declares Trump a ‘useful idiot’ for foreign dictators — and not just Vladimir Putin

On Monday’s edition of CNN’s “The Situation Room,” former National Security Adviser John Boltona longtime hardline foreign policy conservative who clashed frequently with President Donald Trump — agreed with the assessment of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman that the president was a “useful idiotfor Russian President Vladimit Putin, and other foreign strongmen.

“My own view was that Trump just despised any indication that somehow Russia had influenced his election in 2016, because he felt it would delegitimize it,” said Bolton. “I thought that was the wrong way to approach it. Russia tried to intervene, the president should have stood up to it, but he was simply in denial of it because he thought it would undercut his current position. As far as him being a useful idiot in the communist sense, really, it is a statement that the person involved doesn’t fully understand the consequences of his actions, and I think that describes Donald Trump in many, many respects.”

“So you agree with Vindman that President Trump is a Russian useful idiot?” asked anchor Wolf Blitzer.

“Well, I think his behavior, almost across the board in international affairs, betrays lack of analysis, lack of consideration of the consequences of what he does, whether it is Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping or Kim Jong-un,” he said, listing the leaders of Russia, China and North Korea.

Trump commits treason in other ways as well…

trump will NOT commit to a peaceful exchange of power. He’s determined to forcefully remain in office, no matter the result of the 2020 election.

US election: Trump won’t commit to peaceful transfer of power

  • 24 September 2020

Opinion | Trump, Treasonous Traitor - The New York Times

US President Donald Trump has refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses November’s election.

“Well, we’ll have to see what happens,” the president told a news conference at the White House. “You know that.”… [MY NOTES: NO! We don’t “know that”! EVERY (REAL) President HAS committed to the PEACEFUL TRANSFER OF POWER, even Liberal Presidents! We do NOT “need to see what happens”!! IF you lose- YOU GO! PERIOD!]

Every losing presidential candidate has conceded.

If Mr Trump were to refuse to accept the result of the election, it would take the US into uncharted territory and it is not clear how it would play out.

However President Trump’s opponent, Democrat Joe Biden, has previously said that in this scenario he believes the military would be deployed to remove Mr Trump from the White House. [MY NOTES: GOOD! Get rid of the treasonous BUM!!]

What did Trump say?

Mr Trump was asked by a reporter on Wednesday evening if he would commit to a peaceful transfer of power “win, lose or draw” to Mr Biden. The president currently trails his challenger in national opinion polls with 41 days to go until the election.

“I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots,” Mr Trump, a Republican, said. “And the ballots are a disaster.” [MY NOTES: There is NO “massive voter fraud”. While some does exist, NOT anywhere close to what Trump LIES about!]

When the journalist countered that “people are rioting”, Mr Trump interjected: “Get rid of the ballots, and you’ll have a very – you’ll have a very peaceful – there won’t be a transfer, frankly, there’ll be a continuation.” [MY NOTES: ANYONE who supports Trump is NOT a Conservative, NOT a Constitutionalist, NOT remotely informed or honest, is a POOR excuse of a Christian, if they are one at all, OR you are exceedingly stupid/deluded, OR blackmailed…OR BRIBED. There is NO way to support this vile traitor and still HONESTLY BE a REAL Conservative, Constitutionalist, or Christian EXCEPT you are stupid beyond words.]

Back in 2016, Mr Trump also refused to commit to accepting the election results in his contest against the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, which she characterised as an attack on democracy.

He was eventually declared the winner, although he lost the popular vote by three million, an outcome he still questioned.

Mitt Romney, a Republican senator who is a rarity in his party because he occasionally criticises the president, tweeted on Wednesday: “Fundamental to democracy is the peaceful transition of power; without that, there is Belarus.

Any suggestion that a president might not respect this Constitutional guarantee is both unthinkable and unacceptable.”

Speaking to reporters in Delaware, Mr Biden said Mr Trump’s comments on the transition of power were “irrational”.

His campaign said it was prepared for any “shenanigans” from the president.

The Democrat’s team also said “the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House”.

Mr Biden has himself been accused by conservatives of stoking unrest over the election by saying in August: “Does anyone believe there will be less violence in America if Donald Trump is re-elected?” [MY NOTES: NO! America will NOT be “less violent” if TrumPutin is re-selected!]

Last month, Mrs Clinton urged Mr Biden this time not to concede defeat “under any circumstances” in a close race on election night.

She raised the scenario that Republicans would try “messing up absentee balloting” and mobilise an army of lawyers to contest the result.

Trump tells supporters he won’t be ‘stupid’ enough for peaceful transition of power if he loses

President Donald Trump continued to spread debunked conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election during a Friday night campaign rally in Virginia.

Trump argued that it was impossible for him to lose the election, thus concluding he would be “stupid” to hand over power peacefully should he lose.

“We not gonna lose this, except if they cheat,” Trump falsely claimed about the 2020 campaign, where he trails Joe Biden in national and battleground polling.

“That’s the only way we’re gonna lose is if there’s, uh, mischief,” he argued. “And it will have to be on a big scale.”

“And we do want a very friendly transition, but we don’t want to be cheated and be stupid and say, ‘oh, let’s transit — we’ll go and we’ll do a transition’ and we know that there were thousands and thousands of ballots that made the difference through cheating,” he said, repeating the debunked conspiracy theories.

“We’re not going to stand for it,” he vowed. “We’re not going to stand for it.”

Let me close with this parting note-

Historians and election experts warn Trump is behaving like Mussolini and despots that the US usually condemns

  • President Donald Trump has refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses the election.
  • Historians and experts on fascism warn that Trump is behaving like the dictators the US is often leading the way to condemn on the global stage.
  • “This is the way dictators come to power,” historian Michael Beschloss warned in an MSNBC appearance on Thursday.

QUIZ: Who said it? Trump, Hitler, Mussolini or Stalin?

President Donald Trump is refusing to commit to a peaceful transfer of power, threatening to shatter a tradition that lies at the heart of the democratic process in the US. There are serious concerns among scholars that Trump is putting America’s democracy in mortal danger.

Combined with Trump’s relentless disinformation campaign, celebration of violence against journalists, and incitement of armed militias, historians and election experts warn that the president is mirroring the behavior of despots that the US generally leads the way in condemning before the world.

“I’ve been an election observer in broken authoritarian countries, and let me tell you: Trump’s behavior would be swiftly and unequivocally condemned by all international election monitors if it was happening elsewhere. He is behaving like the despots past presidents condemned,” Brian Klaas, a political scientist at the University College London, tweeted on Friday.

When asked whether he would commit to a peaceful transfer of power earlier this week, Trump suggested ballots would be thrown away.

“We’re going to have to see what happens,” Trump said when asked whether he would accept the final results of the election. “Get rid of the ballots and…there won’t be a transfer, frankly. There will be a continuation.”

Trump has given the country myriad signs that he will not concede under any circumstances, placing the US on the precipice of a political crisis the likes of which it has never experienced before. The president has repeatedly pushed the bogus assertion that the expanded access to mail-in voting for the 2020 election — a move designed to protect vulnerable people amid a pandemic — will lead to widespread voter fraud.

Top experts on democracy have been warning for years that Trump exhibits authoritarian tendencies. But their consternation appears to have ramped up significantly as Election Day draws closer and Trump essentially signals that he plans to do whatever it takes to stay in power.

‘This is the way dictators come to power’

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Thursday asked historian Michael Beschloss if he could provide another example of a US president suggesting an election “ought to be disregarded.”

“You want to go into history to look for something like this? Go into Italian history and look at Mussolini. This is the way dictators come to power,” Beschloss said in response, comparing Trump to the fascist Italian leader Benito Mussolini.

“[Trump is] telling you what he intends to do. And we’ve got to make very sure that in the next five and half weeks and after, that we do not get into a situation where…Donald Trump announces that he’s won and puts us in a situation where our democracy is being stolen minute by minute. This is not a drill,” Beschloss added.

Ruth Ben-Ghiat, a New York University historian who’s written extensively on Mussolini, agrees with Beschloss that Trump’s behavior mirrors that of the Italian fascist dictator. She noted that Mussolini was not immediately a dictator, but gradually consolidated power.

Former US Ambassador to EU: Trump Reminds Me of Mussolini - Other Media news - Tasnim News Agency

The clearest parallel is that Mussolini was prime minister of a democratic coalition government from 1922-1925. During that time, he slowly chipped away at democratic institutions, insulting the press, using violence against the left, joking that he would be in office for 20 years, establishing a militia and a legislative body (the Grand Council) loyal to him,” Ben-Ghiat told Insider.

“[Mussolini] bought off elites with privatizations of major industries and by ending worker and peasant strikes. In 1924, to consolidate power, he had a law passed that drew accusations of fraud but gave him a majority. He had his main opponent, Socialist leader Giacomo Matteotti, killed for accusing him of fixing the election and for threatening to reveal his financial corruption — and then he declared dictatorship in 1925 to escape a special investigation,” Ben-Ghiat added.

When Mussolini was still Prime Minister, he used to joke about staying in office for 20 years. No one understood what he meant until it was too late.

Rob Way
“10 more years,” a crowd at President Trump’s South Carolina rally just started chanting.

Trump: “We’ll set the term limit at 25 years” and said Senator Lindsey Graham will help get it passed.

David I. Kertzer, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning “The Pope and Mussolini,” told Insider that comparing Trump and Mussolini does “a disservice” to the Italian leader given he “read newspapers every day in four languages, followed policy issues closely, played the violin and loved classical music, and was not particularly interested in lining his own pocket (although there was no lack of corruption in his regime).” [MY NOTES: Meaning that Trump IS a moron in comparison.]

“What the present moment in American politics does make me appreciate more is how Italy, a parliamentary democracy, could so quickly become a dictatorship,” Kertzer added.

Kertzer noted that Mussolini said “people were like sheep” and “craved being followers,” adding, “Like Trump, he had very little in the way of strong ideological beliefs himself, and knew the power of emotional rather than rational appeals, and of the power of repeating simple, emotionally powerful yet substantively empty phrases (Make America Great Again).”

To Kertzer, the most striking parallel between Trump and Mussolini is that similar to the Italian fascist dictator, the president has enjoyed strong support from religious leaders despite not having “a religious bone in his body.”

“Mussolini could solidify his dictatorship only by reaching a deal with the pope and gaining the support of the Church hierarchy, in a totally amoral exchange: he would give the Church leaders what they wanted (ending separation of church and state, religious instruction in schools etc) and the religious leaders would throw their support behind him,” Kertzer said.
